Yesterday I travelled to Canberra for the Cisco Technologh Solution Seminar. I went to this one since I knew I'd be in Germany when the show finally rolled into its final stop in Sydney. It was basically a big session on SONA (Service Oriented Network Architecture) which was kind of good, seeing as it has been around for a while but I never really paid much attention to it. I attended sessions on Wireless design and Foundation networking architecture. Both were compelling and it was interesting to speak to the persenter Matrin (pictured above) afterwards to see his views on convergence and the issues around introducing services and complexity to the enterprise core. Im looking forward to AON's and the functionality that will be delivered on the ACE platforms. If all the empty seating is a concern, it wasn't because the session was crap, there just wasn't alot of people there, maybe 100.
